Women's Cycling Skorts and Skirts Information

There is nothing wrong with feeling girly! Cycling skorts let you pedal in style AND comfort. They have all of the functional features of cycling shorts, but with a cute, feminine look. A biking skort usually features an inner pair of lycra shorts with a chamois insert, which gives you the padding and protection you need for hours in the saddle. An outer skirt, usually made of quick-drying, breathable fabric, hides the bike shorts and stretches to allow for freedom of movement. These two components can be attached, like in the Mt. Borah skort, or separate, as in the Louis Garneau skirt. Some cycling apparel manufacturers make lightweight cycling skirts that can be worn over your own favorite pair of bike shorts.

Like all bike clothing, bike skorts come in multiple styles. Basic black combines well with all of your cycling jerseys (and doesn’t show grease stains!). Castelli skorts are available in white, and feature the classic scorpion logo. If you like to bike in a sundress, you might enjoy the bright, summery prints of Hincapie skirts. Most cycling skorts feature reflective accents to keep you visible while riding, and some include side pockets for stashing an energy bar.
