The Elite 2.0 is the most technical cycling jacket that Showers Pass makes, and probably the most technical cycling jacket that any company makes for that matter. If you're an outdoor enthusiast or a gear head then you're familiar with a hard-shell jacket -- that's what this is. The make-up of the jacket is 100% 3-layer eVent fabric, which truth be told, is just as waterproof/windproof and actually more breathable than the comparable Gore-tex 3-layer fabric. And don't mistake this jacket as being one of those that claims to be waterproof and then leaks through the sewn seams -- the Elite 2.0 has covered every single seam with waterproof tape. In addition to waterproofing all the seams, every single zipper on the jacket (front zipper, chest pocket zipper, pit-zips, and the rear-zippered pocket) are sealed with an exterior coating that covers the zipper teeth, which uncovered, would let water through. If you're not familiar with waterproof zippers, they zip up and down like any other zipper, expect that they seal and unseal as they go up and down.

The 2.0 happens to be made by Showers Pass, which means you're getting a jacket made by cyclists for cyclists with features that are meaningful to those who wear it on the bike. The back of the jacket has a large vent that spans the entire width of the back right under the shoulder blades, which is designed to let air in without allowing water through the same area. This is accomplished by underlying a mesh vent beneath an overlapping outer layer. The overlapping outer layer is bordered with 3M reflective tape to let everyone behind you know that you have as much of a right on the road as they do. This same reflective tape is wrapped around each arm from back to front for additional visible on low-visibility days.
