Showers Pass only makes outerwear for cyclists, and the Double Century is a great example of how outerwear technology (waterproof-ness, breathablity, packabiliy, use of two-way zipper, elastic cord-cinch hem) has been combined with a cycling-specific fit to a create cycling jacket that will put up with conditions that you likely won't. The exterior of the jacket is 2-layer ARTEX (waterproof/breathable fabric), which is light in weight -- the jacket only weighs 9 ounces -- and keeps rain from penetrating through the fabric. Matched up with the ARTEX waterproof fabric, all seams throughout the jacket are taped from the inside to make sure that nothing leaks through, and you'll also notice the front zipper is taped from top to bottom. Tapping seams and zippers takes a problem area, the seam of two joining pieces of fabric in this case, eliminates the seam from the inside and turns it into a seamless run of material. All of this talk about keeping the elements out doesn't mean that your perspiring body will be trapped inside without any air to breath. The breathability of the Showers Pass jacket
comes from three sources: 1) ARTEX fabric is breathable in it's make-up 2) A single large vent for flow-through ventilation goes from one side of the back to the other 3) Airflow-regulating gussetted cuff (a Showers Pass exclusive).
Showers Pass' woman’s-specific products are designed to fit and flatter a woman's body. jacket are made slimmer in the sleeve, more of an hourglass shape, and proportionally shorter in the torso and sleeve.
