The Pro Tech Vest happens to be a minimalist's best friend; only weighing in at 4 ounces and packing down to a size that actually fits in your back jersey pocket, not half in and half out. The jacket is made of transparent "micro stretch membrane" that has both properties of a rain shell and the stretchiness of a jersey. The top half of the vest is transparent and the lower half is mesh; this was on purpose. The shoulders are covered with the same rain-deflecting transparent material as the front (since rain does hit your shoulders) and the lower back is made of mesh designed to keep your body's temperature regulated. The divide between the two different materials is defined by a reflective stripe that goes from one side to the other.
