However, this doesn't mean the jacket is 100% waterproof because the sewn seams are not reinforced a tape backing. Using a waterproof material without taping the seams means that rain will not penetrate the outer shell, but could leak through the seams in torrential rain. In the event that it is raining, you won't have to worry about getting too hot in the zipped-up jacket thanks to hidden pit-zips underneath each arm. If you're feeling the heat, reach for the zippers directly under your under-arm and open them up to let the cool air inside.

Don't worry because the Portland Jacket is equipped with a chest pocket with a audio port that goes directly into the inside of your jacket. If you're not familiar with what an audio port, it's the spot inside the jacket where you can feed the cord from your earphones into the external pocket that holds your portable music device -- go ahead put your iPod in the front chest pocket, feed the earphone cord from the inside of the jacket through the audio port, connect the earphones to your iPod, put on your earphones, and away you go. Then on your ride how when the sun is starting to go down and visibility is getting increasingly lower, unsnap and flip down the rear reflective panel to make yourself visible to vehicles behind you.
