Showers Pass Mountain Elite Jacket
This isn't a cheap shell jacket aimed to wow you with features that nobody really uses. The Showers Pass Mountain Elite Jacket has a purpose; to keep you dry when it's raining, ventilated when your sweating, and abrasion-free when or if you take a digger. It's no secret that this jacket was made burly enough for mountain bikers, but the universal features make it an option for roadies, cyclocross riders, and commuters. The abrasion resistant fabric, SuperFabric, covering the elbows and shoulders has gotten a lot of praise from cyclist who often wear a backpack or hydration pack when riding -- the fabric won't weaken and shoulder straps won't slip.
The body of the jacket is constructed of 3-layer eVent fabric. For those unfamiliar with eVent fabric technology, think Gore-Tex, but the kicker is that eVent is actually more breathable than Gore-Tex. So we're talking about a hard-shell body that can handle wet days, and won't allow you to sweat inside like a PVC jacket. It may seem like a simple concept: keep the rain out and keep your body properly ventilated, but finding a jacket that actually does that isn't quite as easy. Lucky for you, that's exactly what eVent technology does. You'll also find that the Showers Pass Mountain Elite Jacket uses waterproof zippers for the front full-zip as well as the chest pocket, adding to it's ability to keep you dry. When the zipper is up (or closed) it will look like a strip of rubber, leaving no room for water to get through, and when it's down (or open) it looks like every other zipper -- you'll be amazed if you've never seen this feature. And to enhance the breathability of the jacket, 2 vents are found around the armpit area at the intersection of the accent color and the black-colored under arm of the jacket. Pull the zippers down and you've opened up the inside of the jacket to the outside air.
Features to mention:
• Abrasion and tear resistant SuperFabric elbow patches
• Non-slip SuperFabric shoulder patches
• Waterproof front zipper and chest pocket
• Core vents stay out of the way of backpack straps
• Two front cargo pockets
• eVent 3-layer body
• Drop down tail snaps up and out of the way
Standard Fit - Designed to fit over cycling or street clothes
