Cycling Caps, Skull Caps, Balaclavas, and Bandanas Information

Cycling caps are more than just a fashion accessory -- they are actually profoundly useful! A classic cotton cycling cap with a brim can be worn comfortably under a helmet to keep sun and rain out of the eyes. It shields the top of the head to prevent skin from sun-burning through helmet vents. Turned backward, the brim protects the nape of the neck. Winter cycling caps use the same design, but have earflaps and are made of insulated Lycra fabric, fleece, or wool. Wool cycling caps retain warmth even when wet AND look stylish off the bike, so they are great for bike commuting! A skull cap is a thin hat that barely shows under a helmet. These can be thermal for cool weather, or made of lightweight UV protecting fabric for summer. These are a must for people who have thinning hair, because they prevent burning through helmet vents, and also keep the head cool. Cycling head bands are popular among men and women. Wool or fleece versions are used to protect the ears in cold weather. Headbands made of Coolmax or other sweat-wicking materials keep sweat from dripping in the eyes. Bandanas made of Coolmax are popular, and can be worn like a head band or a skull cap. Whether you are looking to keep warm, stay cool, protect the eyes, or get out of the sun, there are a multitude of biking head wear options out there!
