Assos Knickers Information

Assos knickers were persistently tested and tweaked until they were absolutely perfect. The biggest concern with cycling knickers is the knee area; it needs to bend with your pedal stroke without causing the fabric to shift, which can be annoying and can irritate the skin. The area in the back of the knees in Assos knickers uses a thinner and more stretchy fabric to allow for freedom of movement. A more insulated fabric wraps around the front of the knees to protect your most worked joints. The result is a smooth knee area that stays in place while you hammer away on the pedals.

Men’s Assos bib knickers are ideal for spring and fall riding. They use a lightweight, wicking fabric that has an excellent amount of stretch. The bib upper has wide straps that distribute the weight evenly over the shoulders for a comfortable fit. Some Assos men’s knickers feature extra thermal material over the abdomen, in addition to the insulation that wraps the knees. Women’s Assos knickers are constructed of a lightweight, stretchy, waffle-knit fabric that wicks moisture and provides light compression in warm weather. They are designed with a flat yoga-pant inspired waistband that sits softly on the stomach. Women’s knickers feature half-leg grippers that keep the leg hem from pinching your calves.

All Assos cycling knickers feature the high-density memory foam chamois inserts for which the brand is famous. These pads conform to your body and have a soft, next-to-skin fabric layer that wicks moisture to keep your sensitive bits comfortable for hours in the saddle. Like all of Assos clothing, their knickers are designed to conform to your body in the cycling position. This means that they might look bunchy when you try them on in front of a mirror, but as soon as you get on your bike the seams will smooth out and everything will “click” into place!
